step right up
a little hippie community got wiped out in the waipio valley some years back - a big wave, I think, washed away a lot of lives. Here’s what I found left from one of them.

a little hippie community got wiped out in the waipio valley some years back - a big wave, I think, washed away a lot of lives. Here’s what I found left from one of them.
on the way to south point, the road seems to lead all the way to the end of everything, but of course, at the actual end there was really more off-roading and a bit of a hike.
is it kohala up at the top of the island, where the big king came from, where his birthplace is a shrine preserved near to a truly ancient heiau where thousands of people were sacrificed over hundreds of years? they were laid down on this rock and it is worn out from their exertions against it. it was a beautiful day, but a chilling sight.
mauna loa in the background; a shrine clinging to the peak of mauna kea at nearly 14,000 feet in the foreground. one of the most powerful and energized places I’ve ever set foot.
coming off the volcano there’s a small dirt track that they say leads back to waimea town and civilization. when we found this road marker we began to consider turning back. 15 minutes down the road we lost the road and returned to civilization the civilized way.
atop mauna kea, a small path leads to a crude heiau atop a separate cone peak. from the shrine, the path leads to the observatories. it’s dual-purpose.
at the bottom of waipio canyon, we found this driveway marker. can it be my totem if it’s the only thing on the pole?
outside of Philo at McGowans - a nice reminder of death’s beckoning finger if you ask me
at the tandem silos in minden. if you go to minden you will know what i’m talking about. can’t miss’em really.
the crazy thing is that it really looks like this - the everglades are spooky beautiful if I’ve ever been spooked
the local amazing all-cuisine spice and tea shoppe. this one earns the extra “pe” in shoppe. all hail Haigs!
haight street domestic bronzes, for the pagan in the family. this might be a big photo but I don’t have the energy to bother about that right now.
at the city dump there’s a hillside of discarded monstrosities. watch out for moldy tigers, mr fridge!
o look honey a guardrail. let’s snap a picher afore that fancyass photoblogger gets all the credit.
damn, too late.
casa de fruita, at the defunct vehicular arrangement - this one’s international; we got it blowed up real good and it looks great in the bedroom
mission inn, riverside ca - the spiral tower steps, climbing them was exhillirating
a crabshell in a tidepool. saturation was minimally enhanced but hue is as god and canon made it.
truly among my first few photos, the first day I took the camera out. this one’s a fireplug outside the rincon center. I’ve got it blown up to 20” wide above my couch and it looks great.
out at castle rock in pt reyes, kim got ahead of the group. i blueified things a little, but honestly this is pretty much how i remember it
we went to the asian and this guy was carving a godhead. later he took a break and I snapped this.
