i’m totally jealous of your fabulous, multi-faceted weekend.  jealous, jealous, jealous!

my weekend was spent digging out from snow and changing dirty diapers.  but hey - in a couple of weeks you get to share this exciting lifestyle with me!! haha!!

hey, bring me some toffee! (and don’t forget those marshmallows you promised us!)

THAT is a lot of words. What do you do—type up a paragraph every couple of hours as the weekend progresses? Very entertaining and impressive write-up. AND that Toffee recipe sounds Truly Scrump-tious. I will DEFINITELY be making that in the very near future—shortly following the creation of some delightful-sounding Lemon Squares.

Bonne journée, mon ami!

Dan, I think you’ve found your calling...a story based collection of recipes!  Great fun as always, I’m very envious.

Dan, I love how the 6th Ave Cheese Shop, a subject of a prior blog entry and of a past fond memory is now The Vege House and source for your dessert-eating bliss going forward.....

Eat in good health & spirits!!  Until the next “eating through the neigborhood” excursion............

great googely-moogely. after ingesting all this I need a nap too. and an alka-seltzer. as for your freaky passport photo, look on the bright side… maybe you’ll get strip-searched by a gorgeous woman. in a uniform! and now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to pick up the ingredients for that toffee…

*Evi - I will bring shmallows and toffee, and all I ask is that you have all the snow dyed a rich azure for me because it would look really cool.  If not cold.
* Randa - the secret is in the double espresso I had before the trip to North Beach, and the beer at Vesuvio together with the end of the port after supper.  I was still typing about 20 minutes after I went to bed!
* Shannon, that is actually a marketable concept.  Sadly, I am not a marketable concept, so I think you’re looking at the final product here - read it in good health.
* Jeannette, Kel and I cannot wait for the next excursion - and since it’s gonna be C’town + North Beach together, the weeks will crawl till it happens!  Oh, and thanks for the elk jerky, I will savor it! (Y’all out there think I’m kidding.  No way bucko - teriyaki pepper elk jerky is right here at my elbow!)
* Sawni - the nap was therapeutic, but the toffee is actually medicinal.  That Lyle’s Golden is the closest thing to ambrosia you’ll find.  Hint: when measuring it out, use some spray oil on the measuring spoon and it will flow out very smoothly and quickly.  Or don’t.  I told you not to go out without a muffler. Sheesh.  (for the record, the spray oil is also helpful for the occasional stripsearch.  so I’m informed.)

I want to participate in one of those weekends (though I might skip the duck feet).  I too may try making those toffees, it sounds almost like something I could do!  Is the Lyle’s Golden easy to find?

sadly, I have been to SF only once, but we were lucky enough to come on Chinese New Year, so we walked through C-Town in a daze, looking in shops and smelling weird foods (I am also hesitant about the feet) and it awesome. Now I want to come back and deliberately get lost in certain places.

The safest general characterisation of the European philosophical tradition is that it consists of a series of footnotes to Plato. by online poker game
