(weird.  i tried to leave a comment above, but it said no such entry.  am i catching you in some eerie twilit stage when the internet gods are preparing the next minute for your post?)

i loved the description of tables and chairs.  moribund is the ONLY way to describe chairs like that.  brilliant.  and i kind of like having thunder be visible.  i like the idea.  some sounds are like that.

I’m like that too—I can start a conversation with anyone, anywhere. It’s fun figuring out what will make a person open up. Fun, and a reassurance that EVERYONE has something to offer. The funnest part is striking up a conversation with the person who least looks like they’ll talk :)

If I were that kid, I would have got in a big fight with you about how matching up words like “silver” and “thunder” is actually cool.  I smell the rhetorical nature of your likely response.

you don’t want to pick that fight with me, everybody in the room will wind up spattered with verbiage and contention.  I’m not going to grant you your point, that it might be cool to match up a word like “silver” and “thunder.” Synesthesia, sure, we’ve all done it sometimes.  And it’s not like the other 40s have names that really make sense.  But if you’re gonna synesthize, dude, do a decent job of it. Silver is delicate bright imagery, unless it’s expressly tarnished, which is not a good image for a beer. But thunder is not bright or delicate, it’s crushing and rolling and gunbarrel bluegrey if it’s any color at all in my book.  The evocation of silver does a disservice to any homie’s 40.  To the extent I have any knowledge of the subject.  Steel Thunder?  Iron Thunder?  Berylium Thunder?  I can get behind these, I guess.  But Silver Thunder is still a stupid name.  I mean, unless you say differently. I’m not going to belabor the subject.
