Wow. That Fine Art Museum story was fascinating. I actually clicked on every link to get the full scope of the story. (Guilty admission: I often skip links.) I agree: the architecture of the new museum IS quite brutal-looking; some shots reminded me of a prison (although I DID enjoy the copper cladding pic). The original de Young structure was absolutely beautiful, wasn’t it?! The eventual look of that building ended up so drastically different than the original—so ‘flat’ and without personality; I immediately flipped back to the original building pic to see if there was ANY resemblance; indeed, to figure out if it was the same BUILDING.  Thanks for a great architectural comparison story. I love stuff like that :)

It can be a bit distracting but I like having the english subtitles show whenever I watch a spanish movie. I like seeing the sometimes kooky translations. Well, that and, you know, my english isn’t so good.

I saw Kung Fu Hustle twice when it was out, both times with subtitles.  Guess now I’ll have to see it a third time.  Somehow I think I’ll manage.

It’s a museum? It reminds me of a prison. Maybe once the fence comes down it won’t seem like it.

I wonder if I would’ve liked Kung Fu better with the sub-titles, for I wasn’t a huge fan of the first hour of the film.
