I enjoyed reading your perspective, Dan. Well written, and presented in a reasonable tone. Thank you for that.

And now, having learned lessons in Iraq about re-building, the federal government will hire Halliburton, Bechtel, and their subsidiaries. Wait!  I’m wrong.  Stupid, stupid me. The government has already hired them to do some stuff.

It would have been too difficult to fire Brown, hire some retired 4-star who has been accustomed to organization, allocation of manpower and material, and actually running an organization, and too difficult to change FEMA’s initials to WPA and hire the hard-working, jobless, homeless people to work re-building their houses and lives.

You would think that somebody in Washington knows something about history and how stuff like this can be done.

I’m not suggesting that George W is that person. After all, he admittedly is not the brightest one in his family.  He bestowed that moronic honor on his mother, Barbara.

and I just heard on the radio (which means that it HAS to be true) that the Government controls the weather—and they actually made Katrina stronger!!  ;-)

This was an interesting read, Dan, and you brought up many issues that I’ve been wondering about lately.  The sad thing is that inefficiency appears not to matter with the party, but for some reason, just sticks to any type of government organization.
