This gives me heart considering that my Dad is having some trouble right now, yes post retirement trouble, from his lawyer days. I do trust that the Universe balances it all out eventually. Otherwise I’d have to take out a contract on some old lady’s life and that just seems a bit unspiritual.

This is why I believe in karma. You get back exactly what you put out and he put out a lot of negative energy from the sounds of it.

And that’s what you call Karma coming back to bit him in the *ss. To gain another measure of satifaction, would you ever consider writing a letter to that judge, pointing this out?

Wow, I’m not the only one who holds a grudge and feels guilty about it.
I knew you were in law but I had no idea you worked for the state bar, I really don’t pay close enough attention sometimes. Is that job more satisfying than being a lawyer?

Further proof of one of my favourite sayings—What Goes Around, Comes Around.
And I can totally understand the compulsive checking of the last pages of the newsletter. Once I get something in my craw, I can’t let it go…

I can SO relate to this. I just make it a practice NOT to take defaults under circumstances like that, or file Rule 11’s except under the most egregious circumstances-- because you’re right--it comes back to bite you. Plus, people talk and other lawyers know if you’re a person who can be trusted or not.
I still gloat over the downfall of the man who called me a c--t during a depo. I asked him to repeat it for the record and he played dumb!

i LOVE justice, and the divine kind is so satisfying to read about.
:)
congratulations, dan.
