You have just successfully explained my fascination with the ‘World’s Strongest Man’ competition - I swear I tear up when someone fails, and leap from my seat when they succeed.  D, of course, thinks I’m a loon...but that’s another story.

I’m still stuck on that second paragraph. Wow.

I was in Claremont during that time and sadly sort of missed most of it.  Beautifully written.

i hate to admit that you lost me with velodrome cycling. but having worked it out in my mind, i now have to go back and start again. the good thing is, it WILL last me until Sunday.

The next winter games will be in Vancouver, two hours from me, and I hope to be able to go.
