I have this big bag of lentils and had no idea what I was going to do with them, now I have a purpose!

In case you are wondering, they were given to me. I do not go out and buy things with absolutely no idea what to do with them. Well maybe sometimes, but rarely at worst.

I love my blender and food processor. I live by the “if it looks funny, pulverize it” cooking method, hasn’t failed me yet.

The wooden block for knife storage is a hidden source of bacterial contamination.  Be sure to dry knives thoroughly before restoring to the block; otherwise, you risk turning the slots into bacterial breeding grounds.

Jeff, I like your thinking.  It works for U.S. foreign policy, why wouldn’t it work for lentils?

Bill, I don’t even know how to start responding to you… FIRST, it’s not a “hidden” source - it’s right out there on the countertop.  Also, you say “bacterial breeding grounds” - *I* say “a love shack for my littlest new friends.” And finally, the knives are always immediatly washed and hand-dried, then returned to the slot - Jesse can climb onto the counters and has been seen walking through the house proudly holding up our biggest, sharpest knives.  Yes, he’s holding them properly and safely, but HE’S NOT YET 18 MONTHS OLD.
