sigh. I *heart* scars muchly. Yes indeed I do. You’re being so nice. I feel guilty. sigh ... I now feel compelled to tell you that I only *heart* you muchly because of said scars. It’s a good thing you can’t ever get rid of them otherwise well, it doesn’t need to be said. ;-)

Happy day after moving on day! Here’s to lots of safe and happy years ahead of you. p.

i heart scars as well. they are fascinating testimonies to life lived, and *how* it is lived! plus, imagine a roadmap of anecdotes, each stretch or fold or scar holding its own story, all over your body. pretty cool.

though not as cool as this poem, which rocked my morning. love the rhyme scheme, and the meter. nice job with the feet!

(i hope you got my stupid anatomico-poetics pun ...)

btw i shall henceforth recite your “spring is here” poem every year. or even every nice day when i just happen to feel like it. six thumbs up (i’m borrowing coworkers’ digits for this gesture) for that.

i heard a rumor that said scars are photographically evidenced somewhere…

Um, I’m not a noted scar fan or anything (although Scarface was pretty good), but I’m definitely glad Dan’s okay.

That is probably the only photo of the (main) scar but it’s a pretty old shot from when my cast first came off.  Now my scar is cosmetically improved, looking a lot stronger and less fragile these days, and I added a lorgnette and a goatee (most continental).  All for the best.

If I had been your imaginary friend during your recovery I would have sent you imaginary get-well cards, an imaginary nurse to attend to your needs and imaginary compliments on your new scars.

Happy Fracturversary!!  And many more!  I mean - no more.  Sorry.

I love the full recovery feeling. And your supporters got a home cooked meal from you - that alone was worth any trouble. :)

Jules, I could still use that nurse.  My list of requirements appears on page 115 of last month’s Swank Personnels.

Bobby, I’m going to have fracturversary every year till time ends.  But no more fractures.  I get you.

Anna, get this: they got TWO home cooked meals, and really good ones.  Two blintz souflees (blueberry and plain), a big fruit salad and a bagel/lox/etc spread, and then three hours later, a big platter of carnitas (I make the best), an excellent bean salad (the babies loved it!) and fried yuca and corn.  Plus beer, juice, and mojitos made to order.  Nothing is too good for my friends.
