Wow! I lived in a Claremont for many years and I love it there. Blessings out to your friend and his family. I have a lot of friends in Claremont...one of them actually also has a home up in Arrowhead that I’m not sure is going to survive these insane fires. Thanks for posting this.

The last time Washington D.C. got burned down, it was the Red Coats that did it. That was 220 years ago, though.

Sometimes stuff like this doesn’t really register with you, the enormity of the situation, until you hear from somebody that’s been through it. Thanks for sharing your friend’s story, it made things Real.

I also heard from pete m, who’s in sd. he was far les verbose than marc, which is not a surprise. in fact, he mentioned the fires near him almost as an afterthought:
“The fires have covered my condo with ashes. It was very eery. Anyway, it’s a bit premature for Halloween.”

It’s nice to see your serious sentimental side as well as the funny boy. Hope Kel realises what a trreasure you are. Hope you realise what a treasure she is.. but from hangin with you a bit.. I figure that is a given. Blessings to you guys.
My heart goes out to the firefighters too… what incredible bravery.. we faced that here not long ago in colorado. Did you hear of the firefighters that lost their lives under their fire blanket? So incredibly sad.. they lost their lives.. trying to protect people they didn’t even know… that is the ultimate gift and I sing their praises from the hill top. They weren’t as lucky as the cat… and live to tell their story.. but their ashes scream from the memory.
