c. which kind of covers a & b. to really throw them off their already sorry game she should also have asked for Mask. That’s another Cher movie nobody ever remembers.

Postscript: Kel reminded me this morning, that, once the battered old video box had been located, the clerk looked it over and opined, “Oh, it’s just like Sleepless in Seattle.” And Pretty Baby is just like Pretty Woman.  And The Magnificent Seven is just like The Fast and the Furious, but dustier.  Wankers.

and pea: the only thing I really liked about Mask was how they made the white underclass look sympathetic, and made the Grateful Dead sound mainstream.  Not enough of a reason to give Blockbuster money to see it again, in my book…

i didn’t say you had to rent it. just that nobody remembers it. a friend and i were discussing cher movies last week. we both realized mask was a movie we would probably never forget, but we’d also never watch it again. go figure.

I stand corrected.  You and your friend are dead on with your assessment of that movie.  Seeing it once will last me a lifetime, I think.

Of course it was C. You’re going to have to give us something a little more challenging than THAT mister.

Oh, and I’d give up my sattelite dish before I gave up my Netflix.

Yes, I know, I misspelled satellite. but once you hit that POST button, no amount of CANCEL will save you.

Blockbuster—I was so flustered the last time I went in there because this big dorky guy with the blue and gold shirt actually knew the name of the movie from just telling him the names of the performers that I knocked over the display with the popcorn and Snowcaps and Jujubees.

I haven’t gone back into the store and still owe like 6 bucks in late fees on that movie, after sticking it in the little return slot outside.

What are you doing going to Blockbusters with the plethora of local and independent video stores in SF?

(Am I a computer geek now that I used html coding to make a point?)

I love Moonstruck, and saw it recently. It is a fabulous movie!
Go Kel for educating that blockbluster worker about it’s existence.

Ok, definitely not a computer geek.

In that last comment, I started the first paragraph with one of those pointy parenthesis things (also known as the “less then” sign), then the words “guilt trip” and then the other pointy parenthesis thing. At the end of that paragraph I wrote (pointy thing)/guilt trip(other pointy thing).

did kel yell “SNAP OUT OF IT!” at them?

or would that have been just a little over the top?

elizabeth: you’re every bit the computer geek that you wish to be. it’s just that around the lunanina/thalysman home we’re militant about who/what we let into our comments (for security reasons). you can still post the characters, you just have to know the exact HTML code.

One day I refused to go back to Blockbuster. That was 3 years ago and I’ve never been back.
