Oh my. I feel so dirty, reading this at my office and having the urge to run down to Chipotle. Somehow I don’t think I’ll have the same gratification from my burrito. Damn.

Dan, I work in small-town Ohio. As you are quite aware, we don’t have too many options for good, local, ethnic food in our little hamlets. Fortunately, I *live* in a big city so I can get the good stuff at night and on the weekends. Well, as good as Mexican gets in central Ohio. I think your options in SF are much better.
and yeah, Chipotle is owned by McD’s… and Baja Fresh is owned by Wendy’s. you can’t escape those darn national chains!

Meantime the thing about Baja Fresh and Wendys was news to me. They sure look corporate, but I didn’t kwow what corporation. They’re a Dayton company, right?

gosh, I didn’t mean to sound like I was chastising you in my last post… I didn’t think you would remember that I was stuck in Smallsville, OH during the day. Instead I was referring to your previous experiences in Lima. My (work) town isn’t much more thrilling than Lima. Except that we have a plethora of national chain restaraunts. Fortunately, I live in the greater Columbus area and have access to so much more. That just means I eat at regional restaraunts instead of national ones.
Wendy’s HQ is in Dublin, OH. Which is to say it’s in one of the wealthier suburbs of Columbus. I don’t think Baja Fresh tries to advertise the connection and there are rumors that Wendy’s is selling them. Don’t know how true that is. Another (better-known) food fact is that Wendy’s owns the US rights to the bakery chain Tim Horton’s.
