The picture of Plateau Point in the Grand Canyon takes me back a few years, I hiked that trail (Bright Angel Trail) from the South rim to Plateau Point with a (now ex-) girlfriend in early January. There’s a cement slab with a handrail there, though I’m not sure why there’s a rail at all, it’s a 5 foot section on a very long trail. The hike back up before running out of daylight was especially fun…
