I wondered where she had got to.  I wonder where she came from?

I can’t wonder. I’d start to cry and never stop. As it is, my throat is closing up.

Some friends you choose and others choose you whether you want them to or not. I find that the people I can’t shake are the ones I learn something from and it’s usually something I needed to learn but didn’t want to know.

Your very wonderful, generous and human spirit always shines through in these bus stories.  You make the world a little less ugly for the Katrinas out there...and that is a blessing for us all.

i love reading about katrina - and i’m glad she’s found you.  i suspect you’re a better friend to her than you give yourself credit for, perhaps better than you would choose to be, certainly better than you know.  i also suspect that, despite the obvious difficulties and disparities, she is someone you will learn from.  and i will look forward to reading about what she teaches you.  to *continuing* to read about what she teaches you.

jules… that’s it, exactly.

i should think most of my friends have picked me, not i picked them.  and i should think im probably better for it, too.

Awww.  Someone’s got a crush.

Actually, I think you handle it very well, and I’m curious to hear what you will inevitably learn from this new bus buddy.
