Don’t Be Dense
Did anybody else see that scientists at the Brookhaven National Laboratory have created, in their Relativistic Accellerator, a new form of matter? By slamming two gold ions together, they created, for a fraction of a nanosecond, the “hottest, densest matter ever observed.”
Pretty cool, eh? Or I guess, pretty hot. The hottest ever. And dense. Super-dense. These two adjectives, “hot” and “dense,” get used a lot these days. Pending official notification that I’m on the search team, I have been trying to come up with an appropriate name for this new state of matter, something that evokes hotness and density. “Britny” seems like an available option, or “keanu.” Sure it’s hot, but don’t ask it to proofread your manuscript. Got any other good names for The Hot and the Dense?
And on a point that is one-half very closely related to hotness and one-half diametrically opposed to density, PATRICIA TOTALLY ROCKS. Thanks for setting me up. Now that I’m running MT on her server, I shouldn’t have any more outages. That means you can belittle my scribblings to your hearts’ content, whenever you want, without fear of my having gone down. My blog, that is. You know what I’m talking about. Have at it.
that's just the way it seemed to me at 05:36 PM

Hey man! Movin on up like the Jeffersons, huh? I’m sure the accommodations here are fabulous. Now I can harass both you and Pea without having to move too far across the bandwidth. Sweet.

dammit! we’re talking about doing the same thing! but i see the old comments don’t follow? comments are the best thing about blogging! i’ve had THREE comment servers, two of them show on the blog. one is hidden. i just can’t (it’s neurotic, i know) say goodby to my old comments.

The accomodations are beyond fabu. This is the first blog that wakes you up with a foot massage, and I don’t even want to tell you how it turns me in at night. Stace, I’m so linking you and the Golfer this week, and no the comments don’t follow but life is long and words are evanescent - let them go and more will come back to you. I’ll switch the commenting order too, just playing with my toy right now. (I mean MT, jeez.)
And Crushie Amy? Mix disk? I’m all ears… well mostly....

With everyone making the switch over to MT, I’m wondering if I should leave Greymatter and do the same. Anyone have reasons why I should or shouldn’t?

Gim, I can’t answer that, but I’ll say that I’m about to move over to pMachine, which I judge to be better than MT because it allows future-dated posts.

MT doesn’t allow for future posting, but there is a hack that you can implement to make that happen.
not sure if that will be included in the pro version coming out in the summer.
i looked at b2 and man, there’s a lot of stuff in there. it was even too much for me and you all know i love the gadgets and whosiwhatsits.

I keep waiting for them to discover how to recreate a black hole, so we can chuck all our unwanted garbage in there and see what comes out the other side. (Neat news about Brookhaven, thanks for the heads up.)
