Maybe you don’t read the comments, where I found and posted this link in the first place, so I thought I’d just do a little pubic service here to highlight this article from Kungfu Magazine, to which my subscription has sadly lapsed. It’s a strange world out there, people. Gives a whole new meaning to “yanking my chain.”

do you remember an 80s movie about some kids at cal tech (which was called something else in the movie), and one of them wanted to ask the top prof’s daughter out, and she said “well, let’s see. can you hammer a nail through a 2 by 4 with your penis?” there was a long pause with some blank and awkward staring and then she shrugged and said, “a girl’s gotta have her standards.” the exchange has stayed with me. but i think these qijong guys just raised the bar.
so to speak.
And I thought that getting hit in the balls while catching by foul tips was a bad thing. Now, I thank the baseball gods for my good fortune.
Romy that movie is called “Real Genius” and it was filmed at the college I went to when I was actually going there...being a theatre geek I had quite the bad attitude about the annoying film people all over the place. But I LOVE that dumb movie mostly because of lines like that.
Real Genius is a great movie to catch on some local station on a weekend afternoon. But really, Romy, don’t these guys have enough on their mind without having to consider the implications of polevaulting too?
